Not having anything better to do on Christmas morning, I decided to continue my tradition of placing caches on this day of light road traffic. The cache is located at a spot that I had found years ago while exploring some woods on State Game Lands 110. It was gratifying to see that I was able to find it again. I was also surprised to see someone else on the mountain at 8 a.m. on Christmas morning.
The cache is a camoed 3 quart container. It contains a log, pen or pencil, small trade items and a prize for FTF. No credit without your signature. The location is not too visible, even in winter, until you get within a few yards. Then it becomes obvious.
Park in the Game Commission lot at the foot of the mountain. Then ascend the gravel
road, which will give good views of Northkill Creek below. Toward the top, the road will branch off to the right. Ignore this and continue forward. Soon, on the left, you will see a cleared, mowed swath along the edge of the mountain. Follow this for a while, then enter the woods and find the cache. Mind the vegetation. Wear orange during hunting season, except on Sunday.
