On January 10, 2004 the first EarthCache, "EarthCache I - a simple geology tour of Wasp Head" (GCHFT2), was placed by geoaware on a headland in New South Wales, Australia. Since then, there have been more than 4 million people who have visited over 17,500 EarthCaches in 165+ countries around the world.
