Ash Ketchum, a scrawny young kid from Pallet Town, wanted to be the greatest Pokemon master in the world. As days went by he got better and better at catching and training his pokemon, watched as some of his pokemon evolved into higher forms, and always treasured the ones that chose not to evolve, such as his infamous Pikachu.
If it wasn't for his Pokedex that provided him with information about new Pokemon he encountered, and his good friends that joined him on his journey such as Misty, Brock, Tracy and May, to name a few, he would have not gotten as powerful as he is. He would not have been able to fight off evil forces such as Jessie and James of Team Rocket, and help other Pokemon turn from evil to good, such as Mewtwo.
