Geocache Description:

This bridge opened back in May 1959 and it replaced an old wooden structure that was built in 1900, and was the largest truss bridge in Australia. Prior to the wooden bridge people relied on a ferry to transport them across the river.

This old bridge should be breathing a sigh of relief now as most of the heavy trucks now use the bypass that skirts around the town through the wetlands.

There are lots of spots to conceal a cache on the bridge as it has a walkway with lots of hidey holes but it may not actually be on the top deck. The cache container is a small magnetised cylinder that contains a pencil and log sheet with provision for the FTF.

Parking is available about 50 metres away at the RSL club.

Congratulations to clintongould27 for the FTF !!!
