Frognerbekken (Frogner River) Traditional Geocache

Frognerbekken / Frogerelva (Frogner River) is one of Oslo's seven rivers that drains into the Oslo Fjord.  It starts at the Store Åklungen lake (a great camping location!) in Nordmarka, and streams through Frognerparken (Frogner Park) by the Vigeland Sculpture Park. It then runs through a quiet valley area not often visited by tourists. 

The cache is located at the mid-point of the Frognerbekken valley in Frognerparken.   This is a beautiful area, both in the summer and winter months.   Here you will often find locals jogging or relaxing in the sun.   It is also a great shortcut to the Skøyen neighborhood, with access to the Bygdøy penninsula.  

The cache itself is a medium-sized, air-tight black box.   To retrieve the cache, you will need to walk off the main trail, down to the river to an area sheltered from the elements.  

Note well:  Please do not attempt to access the cache while on top of the bridge as it may be dangerous.   Take care when retrieving the cache in the winter time, as the area will likely be quite icey and slippery.     Please return the cache back to its original location after retrieving it so that it can remain sheltered from the elements.
