Geocache Description:

Trees are a rare thing in Nome, AK.  This next picture might be the biggest and tallest clump of trees around.  (There is a geocache there too!)

The rolling hills and mountains really only have rocks and tundra and looks really desolate most of the time.  So when a tree appears when you are driving along, its like a little oasis thriving in desolation.

Ground zero is on our mushing route around the mountain. When we are talking about location on the route there are not many land marks.  This tree however gives us a point of reference on Snake River Road.  As a side note I am not the only one this tree stands out to.  When I went to place the cache I found tinsel, ornaments and Christmas lights complete with a car battery at the base of the tree.

The Cache is a small black container with a wire attaching it to the host.  There is only a log inside with not much room for more.
