Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. Once you finish the cap, the coordinates will be on your forehead.

Using size 6 needles, cast on 114 stitches. Work in K2. P2. rib pattern. Continue in this pattern until piece measures 4 inches ending with a 2nd row and dec 1 stitch after the 43rd stitch of last row. 113 stitches.
Change to size 7 needles and work in stockinette stitch for 4 rows.

Work even in stockinette stitch until piece measures 9.5 inches ending with RS facing.
Shape top: 1st row: K 1, *Sl1K, K1, psso, K24, K2tog. Rep from * 3 more times. (105 st).
2nd and alt rows: purl.
3rd row: K 1, *Sl1K, K1, psso, K22, K2tog. Rep from * 3 more times. (97 st).
5th row: K 1, *Sl1K, K1, psso, K20, K2tog. Rep from * 3 more times. (89 st).
Continue in this pattern until there are 17 stitches left. Break yarn leaving a long end. Draw end through rem stitches and fasten securely. Sew seam reversing for turnback 2 in above cast on edge.
Make a Tassel: Cut a piece of cardboard 4.5 inches wide. Wind yarn around cardboard 25 times. Break yarn leaving a long end and thread end through a needle. Slip needle through all loop and tie tightly. Remove cardboard and wind yarn tightly through loops ¾ inch below fold. Fasten securely. Cut through rem loops and trim ends evenly. Attach tassel and a travel bug to twisted cord at top of hat and sew to top of hat.
