Pocztowe Konne Tramwaje
Gmach Poczty przy Alei Niepodległości powstał w 1905 roku i przeznaczony był dla Pruskiej Poczty Królewskiej. Wybudowany został w stylu tzw. ceglanego neogotyku wg. projektu architekta Hintze. W tamtym czasie działała już poczta przy ulicy Dworcowej, lecz z powodu rosnących potrzeb m.in. rozwoju telegrafu, dotychczasowy główny budynek stał się za mały.W tamtym okresie pocztę rozwożono nawet 12 razy dziennie!
Gmach przy Alei Niepodległości posiada dwa monumentalne portale - na dziedziniec gmachu mogły wjeżdżać przez jeden z nich tramwaje konne, a szyny tramwajowe zachowały się do tej pory i są doskonale widoczne.

Mail Delivering Horsecars
The Post Office Building located in Aleja niepodległości was built in 1905 and intended for the Prussian Royal Mail. It was built in the so-called neo-baroque brick style following the design of the architect named Hintze. In that time the post office in Dworcowa street had been already operating, but due to the growing demand i.a. the development of the telegraph, the previous building became too small.In those days the mail was delivered even 12 times a day!
The edifice in Aleja Niepodległości has two monumental portals - the entrance of the courtyard was created in such a way that horsecars could drive inside through one of the portals. The tram rails were preserved to this day and are clearly visible.
