Geocache Description:

A series of caches that will build to an A – Z of spices.
Each cache includes a clue which will provide information for a future cache.

Quassia comes from the bark of the quassia or bitterwood tree. The spice is predominantly used for medicinal purposes: increasing the appetite and adding digestion in small doses or causing vomiting in large. It can be used as a bitter tonic after disease or an antispasmodic in fever. Quassia with sulphuric acid acts as a cure for drunkenness, by destroying the appetite for alcoholics.
This quassia cache is a letterbox recipe exchange.
Most people have received a chain letter asking them to send on recipes via email or snailmail. This cache by-passes the process. If you wish to participate, simply bring your favourite recipe in a sealed envelope and exchange it for another. This provides the same randomness as a chain letter, but without the spam (unless it’s in a recipe). Bonus points if you can get quassia into a recipe!
Please let us know if the letterbox runs out of envelopes and we will refill the cache. The original envelops have some writing on the outside stating if the recipe inside is dairy free, gluten free, vegan, etc. It would be good if you could write these types of things on the envelops that you place in so that those with dietary requirements can get a recipe that they can eat.
The cache contains a stamp as required by the guidelines for a letterbox style. Feel free to stamp the envelope or your logbook, if you wish.
In the way of parking I would suggest that you use the park off of Scott Creek Rd.
Also please be aware that this cache is in a conservation park so be kind to the environment and be aware that you may come across snakes, insects and prickly bushes. Also the rules of the park say no geodogs
