El cache ubica en uno de los tramos mas interesante de la carretera PR 14. Desde este lugar puedes apreciar el Rio La Plata. Si observas al piso leerás algo curioso.
La PR 14 fue construida durante la dominación española y se llamaba la carretera central. Esta ruta construida a manos sin mas herramientas que pico , marrón, pala, mulos y caballos y fuerza laboral de obreros y prisioneros. La carretera conecta desde la PR 1 Cayey , Aibonito, Coamo, Juana Diaz hasta llegar a Ponce. TOMADO DEL PRHBHS Durante los últimos días de la guerra Hispanoamericana en agosto de 1898, al avanzar sobre suelo puertorriqueño las tropa estadounidenses, integradas entre ellos , por ingenieros militares, se supo de elogio de los últimos a sus homólogos los españoles, por haber dejado una obra pública de excelencia en las carreteras de la isla. Se referían a la Carretera Central o Militar de 144kilometros de pisos macadamizados, que permitió la rápida movilización de las tropas de Ponce a San Juan. Igual admiración expresaron, viajeros, periodistas, escritores y educadores que ofrecieron testimonio de primera mano de las condiciones que se encontraba al momento de la invasión. El Ensayista William Dinwiddie, quien visito la isla dos meses después de la invasión estadounidense, encomendado por editorial Harper & Brothers, escribió que la mejor carretera del hemisferio occidental se encontraba en la isla de Puerto Rico; que en cuanto a superficie y proeza de ingeniería igualaba a cualquiera en el mundo a excepción de algunas de las carreteras maravillosas que cruzan los Alpes suizos. Para esos mismos meses, Albert Gardner Robinson, uno de los hombres de prensa que acompañaron a las tropas del general Nelson Miles, principal dirigente de la campaña militar de Puerto Rico, escribió que no sabría donde ir en Estados Unidos para encontrar cien millas de carretera continua que pudiese retar le excelencia de aquella que cruzaba de Ponce a la Capital de Puerto Rico. Añadió que, a pesar de que habría que cruzar la Cordillera Central a una altitud de aproximadamente 3,000 pies, no habría tramo que se pudiese recorrer en bicicleta.
