I don't know the whole history of this place, but it was a spot the Boy Scouts of America from the area used as a camping ground back in the days. Hence the name, "Eagle Breeding Ground", sorry for all of you who thought I would give away a spot where the bird is bred.
The significance of this is my son recently made it to the level of Eagle Scout and I thought this would be a cool tribute.
The scout area is now run down with little or no upkeep. While I was here, I noticed what appeared to be recent camp fire remnants, so someone uses it.
