This cache is placed in memory of my daughter. She loved to hike in this area and helped me place most of the Tool_Man caches in this area.
For my baby girl, I miss you Chelsea!
In July 2010, at the age of 19, my daughter Chelsea was diagnosed with colon cancer. Over the next 3 years she endured 4 surgeries, 18 rounds of chemo, 2 ICU visits, and at least 20 separate hospital stays. Throughout it all she continued to have a positive attitude; she never felt sorry for herself, or sought to blame anyone for her situation. She seldom cried and would only break down when she felt too overwhelmed. She lived life as usual, staying in college for as long as she could and was just short of graduating from UMHB. Most of her last month was spent comforting the numerous friends and family who came to visit her in the hospital.
On May 27, 2013 she lost her battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord. My daughter is the most courageous person I have ever known. It is for her that I place this cache, so that others may know her courage in the face of despair.
About the Cache location (Spoilers): Be careful when choosing a route to get to this cache. Unless you have special equipment, you can not take the short route so plan ahead and pay attention to the terrain. I have included the coordinates to a suggested start to your ascent up the mountain. Take the time to look around and soak in the view from this cache. Chelsea would have loved it!
I forgot to put a pen in this one so BYOP!
