Geocache Description:

This is a replacement for GC3X9MV which went missing when the weir cottage was restored last year.  You are looking for a 35 mm film pot hidden at the start of a culvert between the Grand Union Canal at the River Colne.  This is the only weir related cottage surviving in London but the adjacent sluice is now abandoned. Please be careful with children by the water.

This series of caches can be done either individually or as a circuit, taking in two attractive parks and a stretch of the Grand Union Canal.  The route follows the Uxbridge section of the Trail of Discovery.
Fassnidge Park recreation ground was presented to the people of Uxbridge for their quiet enjoyment and pleasure of its townspeople by Kate Fassnidge in memory of her husband, Edward.
Rockingham Rec has a new trim trail, football pitches and the River Frays runs along its eastern boundary.
The Grand Union Canal leaves the River Thames at Brentford and climbs over fifty locks up into the Chiltern Hills. It descends then climbs again to a new summit in Birmingham, 137 miles and 166 locks.
