You need to search it without being seen, maybe you need to wait for a while because stealth is required!
San Domenico Maggiore is a church in Naples, founded by the friars of the Dominican Order, located in the square with the same name.
The square is one of the most interesting in Naples and is on the street popularly called "Spaccanapoli", i.e. SplitNaples, in the historic center of the city. It was one of the three main east-west streets of the original Greek city of Neapolis.
The monastery annexed to the church has been the home of prominent names in the history of religion and philosophy. It was the original seat of the University of Naples, where Thomas Aquinas, a former member of the Dominican community there, returned to teach theology in 1272.
The philosopher friar and heretic Giordano Bruno also lived here at some point.
In the basilica you can visit many chapels:
sixteen (eight on each side), plus eight more in the transept (four per side).
The latter is characterized by altars and tombs dating from the fourteenth to the sixteenth century.
In the seventh chapel on the right, there is also access to the sacristy of San Domenico Maggiore, which leads in turn to the treasure room.
In the convent you can visit the cloister of the statues, and you can use the monumental ladder to access the upper floors.
On the first floor you can admire some of the most important rooms of the convent of the Dominicans from the cells (including that of St. Thomas Aquinas), the refectory, the chapter room to the historical library.
From December 3rd 2013 to September 14th 2014 you can visit The Impossible Exhibition , with reproduction of works by Leonardo, Caravaggio and Raffaello, from 10 AM to 10 PM:
