„Pietrele vii” ale Buzăului, „trovanții”, se află în zona Bozioru, la circa 50 kilometri nord-vest de Buzău.
Din punct de vedere ştiinţific, trovanții sunt aglomerări de pietricele de diferite mărimi, legate între ele de ciment carbonatic. Formele acestor „pietre vii” sunt dintre cele mai diverse: cilindru, navă spaţială, elipse, sfere etc. şi despre ele, oamenii de ştiinţă spun că îşi modifică forma o dată la 1200 de ani. În acest interval ele cresc cu câţiva centimetri, creştere care se realizează din centru spre exterior. Cu toate că, dacă ne bazăm pe ştiinţă, această creştere este cam inexplicabilă deoarece, cu trecerea timpului, şi datorită fenomenelor naturale îngheţ-dezgheţ, sub acţiunea apei şi vântului, forma lor ar trebui să scadă, din cauza procesului de eroziune.
Localnicii au însă altă părere. Ei spun că în zona lor există aceşti trovanți dintr-un anumit motiv şi că, din moşi – strămoşi se spune că sunt aducători de spor şi noroc, iar unii dintre ei aduc aceste pietre în porţi pentru a avea parte de îndestulare. În plus, sătenii susţin că după fiecare ploaie, aceştia îşi modifica forma sau apar mici pietricele care se hrănesc cu nisip şi, în timp, devin mai mari.
Alte poveşti privind Trovanții din Buzău fac referire la extratereştri. Aceştia vin şi le schimbă locul.
Trovanți precum cei de la Bozioru se mai găsesc în România în Oltenia – în comuna Costeşti de lângă Râmnicu Vâlcea fiind amenajat Muzeul Trovanților.
