A small camo'd cache in plain sight (my favorite kind!) Located in front of the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum.
The Maritime Museum opened its doors in July 2000, inside the Santa Barbara Waterfront Center (formerly the Naval Reserve Building) which was built in 1943 as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project. This museum is a Santa Barbara "Must See" with hundreds of exhibits Here is just a sample:
• The History of the Santa Barbara Coast
• Ship Models Displays
• Santa Barbara Surfing History
• Commercial Fishing & Diving Technology
• Channel Islands Ranching
• Shipwrecks of the Channel
• The New Point Conception Lighthouse Lens
The Santa Barbara Waterfront Center is also home to several restaurants and the NOAA Outdoor Visitors Center ( up on the 4th floor with the best view of the harbor anywhere). It is well worth taking a break from your caching adventures to check it all out!
