Konkaikomyoji Traditional Cache

KURODANI,KONKAI-KOMYOJI TEMPLE was founded in 1175, and is one of the eight head temples of JHODO sect, the major Buddhist denominations, and located in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto.

浄土宗の大本山、承安5年法然上人が比叡山の黒谷を下り、草庵を結ばれたのが浄土宗最初の寺院 のはじまり。
西山連峰、黒谷の西2キロの京都御所、西10キロの小倉山を眺み山門、阿弥陀堂、本堂 など18もの塔頭寺院が建ち並ぶ。
また、幕末京都守護職会津藩一千名の本陣にもなった。
