Geocache Description:

A series of caches on a circular walk from the outskirts of Hadleigh, toward Lower Layham and back in a loop.

Please bring a pen.

This series of caches is on country lanes and is a pleasent walk of approx 3 miles in total, to the village of Lower Layham, (where there is a slight detour) and back via the home of the The Essex & Suffolk Hunt. The hunt is reputed to have been started by Sir William Rowley in 1791 with a pack of hounds purchased from the Duke of York. The pack was kept in kennels at Tendring Park, Stoke by Nayland. In the mid 19th Century the kennels were moved to Stratford St Mary by Captain White. During the second World War the kennels moved to their present location at Layham.

We hope you enjoy your stroll, or gallop, and if you do not live in the area, Hadleigh itself is well worth taking some time to explore. Coffee shops and history are all there for you to enjoy.
