The snow is piling up and the forecast is for -11 degrees with 30 mile an hour winds. With weather like this it’s only natural to daydream about warmer places….snow white beaches, palm trees swaying in the breeze, sampling exotic foods and drinks, beach-side fires…ah….. To find the final coordinates for this cache you’ll hop from island to island, port of call to port of call, trying to figure out where you are. Once you determine your location you’ll be able to determine the location of the cache.

A. You may not typically think of this as a Caribbean port of call, but this country has some beautiful beaches. Christopher Columbus visited here on his last voyage and the country remained a Spanish colony until the eighteen twenties.
B. Our big objective here was to swim with stingrays, what a great experience. This island country is famous for stingrays but also for banking.

C. Here we visited Faro a Colón where Columbus is buried, or is he??
D. This island is known for its sunsets and the green flash. We saw several glorious sunsets, but alas no green flash. Looking for a city name here.

F. See Code Box
G. This actually isn’t an island nation, but is in fact French and its national capital is Paris. This little known fact won me a trivia contest and free drinks. This island has been English, then French, then English, then French. It’s even been Swedish for just over a year.
H. This is a windy little island, so windy that you see trees bent over from the constant wind. It’s also a very safe island. We’d take a cab to a restaurant miles down the beach and then wade home in the moonlight. This is one happy island!
I. See Code Box
J. You'll probably want to go snorkeling when you visit here because the underwater views are incredible. You’ll probably also want to go the top of the island to see Magen’s Bay.
K. We haven’t been to this capital city yet because travel to here is still very restricted. Hopefully that will soon change and we can go to see the old American cars and see some of Hemingway’s old haunts.
L. This country is famous for its wildlife. Here we took a boat into the jungle and saw monkeys, crocodiles, huge iguanas and even a dolphin playing with a manatee. Then we took a side trip to see some Mayan ruins. When I grew up this country was called “British “A””

M. We love the coffee from this country, but it’s expensive here in the states. The official language is English, but you won’t hear this type of English in Central Illinois. Reggae is king! Ya mon!

N. Conch is king here. (And you pronounce it as “conk”.) Conch fritters, conch salad, raw conch. Love it, especially when you get it fresh at a beach side stand. This island nation consists of over 700 islands each a perfect jewel in the ocean.

O. When you get here you immediately smell spices. The tourist shops all sell souvenir baskets of spices…and we still have ours. Not only is this island famous for spices, it’s also famous for being a landing place for US troops in the early eighties.
P. This port city is famous for its beaches and truly is where the boys are! (and girls of course!)
