The Parkers Arms in Newton in Bowland is the nearest hostelry to one of the contenders for the most central point of Britain - its gravitational centre - located in the fells above Dunsop Bridge. This interesting geographical fact has no relevance whatsoever, but we do like to make our caches educational...
We invite all local (or indeed, distant) cachers to join us in this lovely remote country inn to relax in front of the log burner, sample the local fare on offer and perhaps consume a beverage or two. The inn has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, the owners are friendly and welcoming, and the food -- mostly locally sourced and all lovingly prepared and cooked on the premises -- is simply out of this world! [For more information and sample menu, see the Parkers Arms web site.]
The weather outside may be dreadful โ and many will know that it usually is for our events โ but the atmosphere inside is always a treat.
Start time: 6.30pm and stay until you need to go. Please arrive in time to order before 7:30pm if you want food!
So that I can give rough figures, please log your intention to attend, together with numbers and whether you'll want food. We're booked to be in the Tap Room, which is comparatively private and has its own wood burner.
