~~Old 63 Cache is located in Hungry Mother State Park near Marion, Virginia. I have been placing a cache on my birthday and missed placing one December 10 so I just waited until Jan.1 2014.The closest parking cords is N36 52.377 W081 30.779 at the boat ramp parking area. There is a $2.00 park use fee unless you are camping or renting a cabin in the park.
~~Head out on the lake trail from the Boat Launch parking lot until you come to the Turnip.( That is where you will turn up the hill off of the Lake Trail Loop) The cache is a 50 cal. Ammo can with plenty of room for tractable items or swag. Please use caution when walking on the uneven terrain on the slope to and from the cache. Watch for “Muggles” that might wonder why you are jumping up and down after the find and want to come up and take the ammo can home to store tools in.
Note: In all Virginia state parks you have to have permission to hide a geocache. Stop by the Headquarters building in the park and ask to talk to the official in charge of reviewing the Geocache Placement Application you will have to obtain from them. Let them be aware of your desire to hide and maintain a geocache in the park. Most parks may ask you to “not” make the cache for Premium members to allow the general plumbic the opportunity hunt while visiting the park. All my caches have been placed by permission at Hungry Mother State Park.
