To complete this cache you will need to bring a 9v battery.
A flashlight is strongly recommended.
You cannot access either stage of this cache from the highway, so please only park in the parking lot on the south side of US36/OH37 on the western edge of the lake. Parking coordinates have been provided. The trail starts at the southern end of the parking lot, and soon turns toward the north.
This is a 2 stage multi. The coordinates for the first stage have been estimated based upon two other sets of coordinates, so do not expect them to be exact. It will be obvious why when you get there. The first stage has no container, and will provide coordinates and clues for the final location. A 9v battery will be needed to complete the cache.
The trail is part of the Alum Creek SP bridle trail system (specifically, the Maple Glen trail) and as such expect mud, horse droppings, and ticks along the first part of the trail. Part of the trail to the cache takes you along an old road bed, however it is heavily overgrown with lots of thorns. Again, expect ticks, thorns, poison ivy and everything else one might find outdoors in Ohio. Finally, the cache itself it off the trail a bit, and there is at least one old foundation nearby, so watch out for holes, wells, etc.
One way from the parking area to the cache is approximately a 1/2 mile. The GPS on my phone told me my route was .43mi and my handheld GPS told me .48mi, so I'll call it .5 to be safe, so expect a mile walk, give or take, round trip.
