El parque cuenta con nuevas instalaciones para hacer ejercicio y ofrece una muy buena vista de la bahia de Panama, la Cinta Costera y la zona del Casco Antiguo y la Presidencia. En su parte central, el parque tiene un monumento que celebra los 500 años del descubrimiento del Mar del Sur, hecho histórico que marcó el inicio de una nueva ruta comercial a nivel mundial por el océano Pacífico. Esta columna u obelisko central esta rodeado por dos amplias fuentes que simbolizan los dos mares que bañan a Panama.
The park has new facilities to exercise and offers a great view of the Bay of Panama, the Cinta Costera, and the Casco Viejo area and the Presidency. In the center of the park, there is a monument that commemorates the 500 years since the discovery of the Ocean of the South (Pacific Ocean), a historical event that changed forever the world's commerical trading routes. This central column or obelisk is sourranded by two large fountains that represent the two oceans that surround Panama.
Nota: Hasta que el proyecto de saneamiento de la bahia termine, esta parte de la bahia todavia sufre del olor que es especialmente fuerte durante marea baja.
Note: Until the bay clean up project is completed, this part of the bay still suffers from bad smell that is specially noticeable during low tide.
