mcwilli series #2.5 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

PhilatSea: It is with great sadness I have to Archive this cache. The area is now closed by Langley Parks due to cliff erosion. A orange fence has been erected to keep people out of the area now so I had no choice but to Archive.
I have picked up the cache before the event at the Fort today.
I allowed those at the Event to log this cache because they would have done their PQ and this cache would have shown up on the PQ.

While this cache had a 50% DNF rate it never went missing. It was always there when I checked it. The fact is it blended in so well and many of you had their hand on the cache and never knew it. There were many who had been back many times before they found it and said I had it in my hand and didn't know it.

Thank you for the FAV points.

Thank You!

Geocache Description:

This is a series of caches for mcwilli to say Thank You for all the trails you have placed for cachers: The complete Fort to Fort Trail is from the Historic Fort Langley to the Historic Cairn and 4.6 km one way. The first portion of the mcwilli series is on the Fort to Fort Trail that runs from Fort Langley to the Historic Cairn and and runs about 3.5 km one way.

The Fort to Fort Trail provides excellent views of the water and wildlife habitat as well as the mountains. View decks and benches are placed along the trail The Karr/Mercer Barn originally built in 1876, the barn was one of the earliest hay-drying barns constructed in the Chilliwack area. Although it was relocated to Derby in Langley, it remains one of the oldest extant barns in the Fraser Valley and is an important physical reminder of pioneer farming and building techniques. This barn is located at the west end of the trail near the parking lot of the Historic Cairn of Fort Langley. The total length from

mcwilli 01 to the 208th Street Parking location is about 11.4 km It is requested that you pick-up any trash along the trail as you cache as suggested by the Township of Langley.

Please note the trail in Fort Langley to the Salmon River Pump house on the east side of Fort Langley golf course is open from 6:00 AM to Dusk. The time switches here from Dawn to dusk and once inside the Derby reach park then the hours are Derby Reach Park Hours The Township of Langley is concerned about night caching in any of their parks. If it is found that you have done any of these caches after the parks/trails are closed your log will be deleted.
