Geocache Description:

A leisurely stroll on the scenic promenade along the slaney river leads to a hidden trail where the treasure lies.

With a history going back to 465, Enniscorthy is one of the longest continuously-occupied sites in Ireland. One of the defining features of the town is the river slaney flowing through this busy commercial town. This walk will bring you alongside the river towards the now abandoned grain mill, formerly operated by S. and A.G. Davis. To the left on the otherside of the river you will see a large towering and beautiful building, this is the former Wexford Lunatic Asylum closed in March of 2013.

We recommend parking in the Riverside hotel car park and enjoying a nice stroll down to the end of the promenade. Follow the pathway as it merges to a trail leading to the main road with St.Johns mill looming on your left hand side. The cache is located on a hidden trail to your left alongside the river.
