This area of Grand Island is rich in history. This parking lot was a branch camp for WWII POW's. It was the Dodge school and housed about 100 German POWS. See the nearby marker for more history.
Across the street is the Liederkranz. Built in 1911 and one of the few buildings in Grand Island that is regestered in the Nebraska State Historical Society. The club was founded in 1870 and is the oldest club in Grand Island. It was orginized to promote music, drama art and literature. You are looking for a micro.
