Geocache Description:

Ah, February! It's a time for dreamy young lovers, hot toddies by an open fire, white frosts on pastures and meadows... and caching with a trowel! :(

Who among us hasn't gone out for a long hike or a quick grab in conditions so cold our fingers nearly fell off when our mittens were removed? Who among us hasn't accidentally cracked Tupperware whilst chipping a container from its icy nest, requiring the humbling email to the cache owner, or, for the Boy and Girl Scouts among us, the hasty field repair or replacement?  Who among us hasn't stomped around in the snow to cover our tracks for the next finder, or quietly rejoiced that our suffering would end sooner than expected when the tell-tale geotrail led us right to GZ... and delivered us from frostbite?

Given our trials and tribulations, don't we all deserve some colonial food and good cheer, served up tavern-style in CT's most auncient towne? Let's gather at LL's. I'll be there by 5, though imagine most won't arrive until 5:30 or later. It's right off 91 and easy to get to from practically everywhere! Despite claims to the contrary, I STILL don't think there's a lot of room for caches in this suburban town. So though I am unlikely to make the traditional CCC hide, I WILL do a raffle, or possibly even one with a twist, so that someone gets lucky. It is tradition and what's called for there, after all. ;)

The Central CT Cachers' Nite Out is an evening gathering for caching enthusiasts, generally on the second Tuesday of every month held in varying locations each month. Mark your calendars now! Everyone is welcome to attend...you don't have to reside in CT, and you certainly don't have to be an experienced cacher… new folks are most welcome! Let us know if this is your first event as we'd like to get acquainted. This event features new or rotating hosts every month. If you have an interest in hosting, please contact Katydid & Miles Stone. As host, you'll select a location; get the coordinates; and copy and paste the event page and resubmit. There are a numbers of places in the area to enjoy good food and drinks. Locations should be kid friendly, have no admission fee and be within the Central Connecticut/Greater Hartford area. Cachers from outside of the area are also encouraged to host, but we do ask that the event itself be held in the Central Connecticut area.
