All Saints Church / 11th Durham Scouts (Closed) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to my note I am archiving it.

Guidelines:**"You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."**

If you wish to contact me about this cache please use my Email address below my signature and quote the GC number of the cache. Please note this system is not infallible and I may miss any such mail.

Many thanks,

Geocache Description:

This cache is located on a public area just outside of All Saints Church. The Council have recently allowed the fencing and addition of parking to this area to tidy up the look of the location.

This is where 11th Durham Scouts used to meet before their merger with 1st Framwellgate Moor Scouts.

A micro cache that is in a small black bison container. This cache is to mark the location of All Saints Church and the meeting place of the former 11th Durham Sea Scout Group. As a child I was a member of this group and have fond memories of attending meetings in the church. The group has since merged with 1st Framwellgate Moor Scout Group.

All Saints Church is home to both Anglicans and Methodists on Newton Hall. It is still home to a number of youth groups including Boys Brigade, Brownies and Guides. The church is relatively new having been built in 1967. The cache is placed in an area that is often very busy so you will need to take care when retrieving the cache.
