De reeks BB4 – WO1 – … neemt jullie mee naar het Brugge tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
Aan de hand van foto's krijgen jullie een beeld van de verwoesting. De opgegeven coördinaten plaatsen jullie op de (vermoedelijke) plaats waar de foto werd genomen. Het biedt jullie eveneens de mogelijkheid om de foto's te vergelijken met het heden.

THE "STATIONPLACE"
Op het plein dat tegenwoordig het Zand heet, stond vroeger het 2de treinstation van Brugge. Het Zand heette toen dan ook toepasselijk “De Statieplaats”.
On the square which today is called the Sand, formerly stood the 2nd Bruges Railway Station. The Sand was then also applicable as "De Statieplaats".

Het 2de station van Brugge werd gebouwd in de periode 1879-1886. Het werd buiten gebruik gesteld in 1939 en gesloopt in 1948.
