Geocache Description:

A nice little park for a cache.

---UPDATE---and a rant Hello friends, first of all I would like to thank you for considering my cache. I hope you take the time and stop by to search for it. I think you will enjoy it. I have moved it to a slightly better location and loaded it up with some decent swag. I placed this style because these old school caches are the ones I enjoy. When we plan on taking road trips I will search the route ahead of time and if we come across one, we'll stop for a few minutes, get out to enjoy the area, and attempt to make the find. Personally, I find little pleasure in driving down a muddy backroad, stopping at every signpost and guardrail, stopping the vehicle, impeding traffic and causing a road hazard, just to sign my initials on a tiny slip of paper and stuff it back where it can be seen from a hundred feet away. If you enjoy this style and are all about the numbers, that is your prerogative. Which brings me around to the rant portion of this manifesto. I have recently placed several similar caches on public and my own private property. I am having problems getting them published. It seems the reviewer wants to have verifiable confirmation that I have received permission to place them. I could easily say that yes, I have verbal permission from the landowner or manager but how can that be verified? I am not willing to give out their phone numbers to an unknown third party for such a trivial matter. The public area on which the caches are placed are managed by a county conservation board that has an open policy on geocaches and no permits are required to place them. I have placed several caches on public owned ground before, including this one, and they were all quickly published and available with no repercussions . Yet now there seems to be a problem. Above and beyond all, I refuse to ask permission to able to access and utilize publicly owned property that was purchased and is currently being maintained through the use of taxpayer money. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read all this and sincerely hope you take the time and effort to look for and hopefully find the geocache. By the way, over by the shelter house on your way out the drive, there is a small donation box for this park. If you would be so kind, maybe you could stuff a buck or two and perhaps a note saying that you stopped by this park specifically to search for a geocache. That would certainly help put a feather in the cap for the game of Geocaching and the Parks department would appreciate it as well. But don't feel obligated, everything thing we do is voluntary.
