I started caching and signed up on December 6, 2009 with my caching name of mrmarkeagle. My handle is based on several points - the first is based on the idea of a Southern tradition of addressing Elders with a Mr or Miss. The second is based on my first name Mark.
I have been active in Scouting for many years. So when I was a Cub Scout Leader it was easier for the Cubs to address me as Mr. Mark rather than to try to say my last name, which for them was really difficult.
My Scouting career began when I was a boy scout. I enjoyed camping and quickly earned the Eagle Scout Rank. So my handle is the combination of all above points - mrmarkeagle.
The first major accomplishment in geocaching is completing "The Great 88 Counties of Ohio Challenge" (GCZTXA) with fivegreyhounds and I Drive.
The first cache I placed is "Anne's Garden" (GC2X96Q). It was placed in Honor of my Mom - Anne, and her favorite activity Gardening.
