This cache has been archived.

IgnotusPeverell: Greetings. I'm IgnotusPeverell, one of the volunteer reviewers for geocaches submitted to Geocaching.com.

This geocache is located on SWA or STL property. Notices were posted by Geocaching HQ on August 5, and September 2 to add the required text to educate players about permit requirements. The deadline was September 30, and that date has passed. Unfortunately, this geocache is now being archived. This geocache cannot be unarchived.

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

Cache was placed in honor of my grandpa George, 'Papa', on his birthday, January 14th. I carry his name as my middle name proudly. He always loved to fish and we always hiked in to the harder to reach fishing spots. This is about as far out into the middle of the lake as you can get without ever actually getting wet.

Runyon Lake was formerly known as Fountain Lakes. It was originally used as a dredge pond for the Rocky Mountain Steel Mill. The lake is used solely for fishing and is fed by the Arkansas riverRunyon Lake is home to several different fish species. including White CrappieBlack BullheadSaugeyeChannel CatfishLarge Mouth Bass and Rainbow Trout. The lake previously held the record in Colorado for the biggest catfish catch at 38.5 inches in length and 29.5 pounds.

This area will probably have heavy fishing muggle activity during warmer months, so use some stealth. Somewhat tricky to find and half the fun is figuring out how to get out here.

Please make sure cache is hidden as well or better than it was found. VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO HighCountryAdmin FOR GETTING THIS PUBLISHED ON MY GRANDPA'S ACTUAL BIRTHDAY. Congrats : FTF! - mldisc (in the dark), 2TF - SugarPug, 3TF - dlbisblest, srdisblest
