The Astor Theatre is an iconic landmark situated on the junction of Chapel Street and Dandenong Road. Built in 1936 in Jazz Moderne style it has been a popular melbourne entertainment destination. Enjoy the history, that goes with this cache.
Please note cache is NOT in the electrical box
One of only a few, single screen cinemas still operating in the world today, the Astor is built in a two level design incorporating traditional stalls and circle. It has one of the earliest Neon signs in Victoria and despite it being listed on the Victorian Heritage register it has frequently had to fend off redevelopment proposals.
A riddle from the hobbit, continues the theme. "A box without hinges, key, or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid."
The cache is in a similar theme to the Astor in that its brown exterior holds golden gems.
The original cache, a one off container has been muggled so i have come up with another new container, a bit different though. Smaller, but should contain a pencil.
