The Rockefeller State Park Preserve, among some circles, is often referred to simply as "The Rockies". This cache should not be mistaken for a Sylvester Stallone movie with a similar title.
The Rockies are a 1,400 acre gem in Westchester's Pocantico Hills. Once part of the Rockefeller Family Estate, this incredible preserve and its network of carriage trails built by John D. Rockefeller Jr. are open to the public for walking, running, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and horseback riding. No bikes are allowed but dogs ON LEASHES are welcome. Enjoy the forests and meadows here - it's a fantastic place!
This cache is hidden in the northern part of the main park in the area of the Pocantico River Trail and the Thirteen Bridges Loop. Below are links to trail maps.
Enjoy!
