A Romaria é uma peregrinação religiosa feita por um grupo de pessoas a uma igreja ou a um lugar considerado sagrado.
As romarias fazem-se por toda a parte do mundo e nos Açores não é exceção, sendo a romaria que recebe mais peregrinos de todo o mundo, SENHOR SANTO CRISTO DOS MILAGRES.
O culto ao Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres tomou impulso a partir dos séculos XVII e XVIII, deve-se a irmã Teresa Anunciada.
