This easy cache is part of a series that takes you on a walk through the bush at Glenbrook in the Blue Mountains. Glenbrook is a small "village" at the start of the Blue Mountains and is a lovely place for a walk and a coffee. It is meant for locals and tourists and starts at the train station so that for those without private transport the trail starts as soon as you arrive at Glenbrook.
The cache is located with a view of the original Lapstone Hotel roadside bar (the main 1930s hotel is now within the RAAF Glenbrook base and is used as the officer's mess) that became the Gate Guard Room in the early Glenbrook base days. The building is now unused, as far as I know, and is well behind high wire fencing, with roaming guard dogs within.
"A roadside bar was attached to the Lapstone Hill Hotel possibly built when extensions to the hotel were carried out 1934. This was the first roadside bar in the State. It provided refreshments for the many visitors travelling from Sydney to Katoomba. Ceased functioning as a bar in 1952 and until 1981 was the guardhouse for the RAAF Base. In 1981 a new guardhouse was built." - Australian Heritage database RAAF Base Officer's Mess

The late addition of this cache creates the dilemma of the sequence of tackling Rambles #15 #16 #17, but it should be noted that #16 is a multi requiring coordinates that should be collected along the way (see also the attached map image for the return to the track and highway underpass).
This cache is a new release to the Glenbrook Ramble series originally created by wackydo and eaviate.
This cache is a log only flat cache so you will need your pen to log it.
