They are a group of shrines circling Ikuta Jinja shrine.
Each of them hallows god or goddess who was born at the time of Amaterasu and Susanoo's pledge.
Visiting them in the numeric order is said to be a good luck charm.
Rokunomiya jinja, the 6th shrine and Hachinomiya jinja, 8th shrine were distinct ones when they were founded, but Rokunomiya is included in Hachinomiya now.
Rokunomiya jinja shrine hallows Amatsuhikone and Hachinomiya jinja shrine hallows Kumanokusuko.
