Nasce in provincia di Cuneo da alcune piccole sorgenti situate ai piedi delle colline del Roero tra i centri di Vezza d'Alba e Guarene. Bagna inizialmente la frazione Borbore di Vezza d'Alba, da cui assume il nome, scorrendo con direzione Nord sino a giungere a Canale (CN) dove si arricchisce dell’apporto di vari torrentelli e fossi. Da qui piega verso Nord-Est entrando in provincia di Asti e scorrendo incassato in un’aspra valletta contornata dalle colline del Monferrato. Presso San Damiano d'Asti (AT) la valle si allarga diventando più dolce e regolare; presso la fraz. Pianetti (AT) riceve da sinistra il suo maggior tributario: il torrente Triversa, proveniente dalle colline al confine con la provincia di Torino. Il torrente raddoppia così la portata ordinaria e scorre nuovamente in un breve tratto vallivo stretto e incassato sino a giungere alle porte di Asti dove riceve da sinistra il torrente Rilate. Da quest’ultima confluenza piega improvvisamente verso Sud-Est attraversando quasi interamente canalizzato la periferia Ovest di Asti e confluendo da sinistra nel fiume Tanaro.
He was born in the province of Cuneo from some small springs located at the foot hills of the Roero between the centers of Vezza d'Alba and Guarene. Initially wets the fraction Borbore of Vezza d'Alba, from which it takes the name, scrolling with the north until reaching Canale (CN) where enhanced by the contribution of several small streams and ditches. From here to the North-East folk entering the province of Asti and scrolling encased in a rugged valley surrounded by the hills of Monferrato. At San Damiano d'Asti (AT), the valley widens becoming more gentle and regular at the fraction Pianetti (AT) receives its major tributary from left: the creek Triversa, coming from the hills on the border with the province of Turin. The stream thus doubling the ordinary flow and flows back into a short narrow valley and cashed until you reach the outskirts of Asti where it receives the stream from left Rilate. From this confluence bends suddenly to Southeast almost entirely channeled through the western outskirts of Asti and striving to be left in the river Tanaro.
Caratterizzato da un regime esclusivamente pluviale con piene brevi ma particolarmente rabbiose (nel 1948, svariati giorni di piogge torrenziali produssero una violenta piena che devastò tutta la parte Ovest di Asti uccidendo anche decine di persone), il Borbore ha una portata media annua presso la confluenza con il Tanaro di circa 5 m3/s, che, considerando la brevità del suo corso e la sua natura di torrente collinare è abbastanza elevata. Il perimetro del suo bacino è di 123 km.
Featuring an exclusively rainforest filled with short but very angry (in 1948, several days of torrential rains produced a violent flood that devastated the entire western part of Asti, killing dozens of people), Borbore has an average annual flow at the confluence with the Tanaro of about 5 m3/s, which, considering the shortness of its course and its hilly nature of the stream is high enough. The perimeter of its basin is 123 km.
