Krantzkloof Nature Reserve
Since I placed the original KZN Nature Reserve Challenge (GC30HEH) cache in 2011, a lot has happened and the number of caches in Nature Reserves has increased significantly, making qualifying for that cache a 'relatively' easy task.
Instead of "raising the bar" on that cache, I have decided to create two new challenges - this one which will require about 60% of NR caches to be found (Senior), and another cache (Ultra - GC4X924) where you will need to find about 80% of the caches placed in the Nature Reserves in the Ethekwini area.
Below is a list of the number of current ACTIVE caches in Nature Reserves in the Ethekwini area, together with the number of caches to be found in each reserve to qualify for this challenge.
Please note the rules:
- Only Physical and Earthcache types are allowed. i.e. No CITO or Event caches.
- Caches may have been found any time since the start of geocaching.
- Caches found before achival (which have subsequently been archived) in the Reserves below are acceptable.
- You must create a bookmark list (to be marked 'Shared & Public') of the qualifying caches you have found. A link to this bookmark list must be in your found log or in a logged note.
- This cache (and the "Ultra" cache) do NOT count in the qualifying criteria, however the original GC30HEH cache does count.
- No substitution of caches in one reserve for another will be allowed.
- If you are unable to meet the challenge because there are insufficient caches for you to find in a particular reserve (i.e. because you own the remainder), some of your placed caches in that reserve can be accepted to meet the qualifying criteria. Or you may be required to find additional caches in other reserves. Please contact me by email to discuss this.
Note: Trail closures, archiving / disablement of caches in any reserves may require a change to the qualifying criteria. Please check that you have the latest version of the qualifying criteria.
Note: Krantzkloof Nature Reserve is divided into East and West along Kloof Falls Road / Bridle Road.
