Hi – I’m Sammy the Snail and to find me you’ll need to follow my trail. Head to the listed coordinates where you will find a reflective “S” hanging in the tree. Then simply take a nice wander through the wetlands following the letters that form SNAIL TRAIL. The letters are approximately 150m apart. There are some green reflective markers at intersections to help keep you on the right path so keep an eye in the trees and on posts and signs.
There are a few little tricks along the way so pay attention and follow the instructions. The last letter is hanging in a tree straight ahead at a T-junction. When you find the last letter, look down at the base of its tree. You’ll find an Eclipse tin under bark at the base of the tree that contains the final coordinates you need to find me. I’m just a few steps away from this point. You’ll find me hiding discretely out of sight close to the ground.
The round trip walk is about 3km so allow plenty of time for the round trip. Take your time and absorb the birds, ducks, tadpoles, frogs and other sounds and smells in the area. Very peaceful at night. This trail is suitable for the kids but keep an eye on them as you will travel close to water and across some small boardwalks. On the way you will pass a couple of other regular caches, so you might like to stop by.
