The Sky is the Limit is placed in a location that will allow you to escape most of the crowds you'll see at the top of the Gondola. The cache is placed very near the paragliding take off for the paragliders you'll often see soaring above beautiful Queenstown.
I spent almost three years in Queenstown watching these paraglider soar from the top of Bob's Peak to town, before I decided I too needed to learn how to fly. Summer of 2013 saw me learning, and by Autumn of 2013, I too was one of those paraglider floating back to earth high above Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. This cache is hidden near the take off that private paragliders use - and depending on the weather and time of the year, the comercial tandems will fly from here too.
Getting to the cache from town would be about a 1 hour 20 minute walk. You can alternatively take the gondola to the top of Bob's Peak and walk from there - saving yourself about 50 minutes - 1 hour. From the top of the Gondola, follow the signs to the paragliding take off - the first place you'll come to will be the commercial tandem paragliding launch, and from there a sign leads you further up the hill to the private club pilot launch site. A wide 4WD track is the most direct route to the cache.
At the time of hiding, the cache contained a logbook, a pencil and sharpener as well as some small toys for the kids.
