Kratek sprehod skozi uganko vas bo popeljal do in okoli cerkve Marijinega vnebovzetja. Marijina božjepotna cerkev na Homcu je najlepša podružna cerkev nadžupnije Šmartno pri Slovenj Gradcu. Cerkev je prvič omenjena leta 1436 še pred pojavom Turkov v teh krajih. Iz zgodovine je razbrati, da so se na tem hribu in ob cerkvi zbirali prebivalci Mislinjske doline ob turških vpadih, saj je Homec, ki je ležal v osojni legi in skrit v obširnem gozdu za močvirnim zemljiščem, dajal varno zavetje. Zgradili so si manjšo stavbo za zaklonišče pred slabim vremenom. Turki so trikrat divjali skozi Mislinjsko dolino v letih od 1476-1480 in za seboj pustili pravo opustošenje. Tabora na Homcu niso izsledili.

Stage 3: spoznajte se z mogočno cerkvijo sv. Marije S3. Predlagam, da začnete šteti z bližnjim vogalom na dolgi stranici in nadaljujete v levo.
C = Število vogalov objekta-cerkve. Vključno z notranjimi.
Začutite mogočno energijo. Prav tukaj, kjer stojite, so bila rešena mnoga življenja pred turškimi pohodi v 15. stoletju.
Stage 4: nedaleč stran od vhoda stoji še ena kapelica S4. Spustite se po lesenih stopnicah do nje in preštejte število ljudi, ki lebdijo nad vami.

A short walk through the woods will take you to and around the mighty Church. The church was first mentioned in 1436 before the emergence of the Turks in this region. From the remains and historical evidence, the residents of Mislinja Valley gathered in the church at the times of Turkish invasions. Since Homec lyes in a shady location, hidden in the woods for a broad marshy land, gives a safe escape. In the years 1476-1480 Turks raged 3 times through the Mislinja Valley. “Camp” on Homec was never traced.

Stage 1: from the parking go on gravel path toward first chapel S1
A = No. of stoned stairs leading to S1
Stage 2: toward the church there is another Chapel S2
B = Find the four-digit number near Marija and substrack the year of first mention of chirch
Stage 3: Familiarize yourself with the imposing church of St . Mary. I suggest that you start counting by the near corner on the long side and then to the left.
C = No. of corners of the church. Including internal.
Feel the energy. Right where stand right now many lives were saved from the Turkish marches in the 15th century.
Stage 4: not far from the main entrance there is another chapel. Use wooden stairs, go dowstairs and count number of people “flowting” above you inside the chapel.
