Geocache Description:

BGWT #8

Barker-Greenfields Wetland trail

At first glance this appears to be an ugly section of road. Litter is trapped in the screening trees along the edges and industry complexes add to the bleak look. But there is a hidden oasis for those who leave the road and head into the wetlands. During the summer it can dry out but come the wet season the whole area will transform as water fills the channels.

This collection of caches is designed to be found one after the other as you follow the walking trail.

Rather than creating a single multicache this has been designed as a child friendly caching experience. The path is wide and well sealed so taking a pram along the path will not be a problem. There are no hills and it is an easy stroll. There are small bridges, a board walk across reeds and lots of small tree along the trail which should be a delight for children to explore. When it is wet there will be lots of water, birds and other wildlife associated with a wetland so your walk can also be an educational experience.

The occasional rabbit will run across your path and the caches are hidden differently to add to the fun. If your child has created a stamp or has a special stamp set why not stop at the letterbox cache and get them to leave their mark.

Access to the trail is only available via Wetland walk 1 and 9. My preference is Waypoint 1 . The trail start is easy to see as it is next to a large power pole and a sign telling cars not to enter the trail. There is also a lots of space to park away from the road.

The original series was adopted from SA_Parrothead and was such a beautiful area we decided to reinvent the trail. We thank The parrots for passing on such a beautiful area for us to bring people to. We have maintained as much of the original listing and thankyou for your efforts on this trail it will be well looked after.
