Small canister tucked on Willow Farm Lane.
Deciding to extend the Putney Park Lane series north towards the River, this is the first of three or four caches we hope to place some time (note to self: get onto it).
The cache is named after the farm located a little to the south of the cache location. It was demolished in the late 1880s to make way for the houses between the railway line and the Common.
It's a lovely spot here. In the summer, you can enjoy a spot of cricket; in the winter, the morning frost and the low lying hanging mist can be very striking. Some of the the houses along Lower Common South are quite splendid.
There have been a number of sightings over the years of a "distressed" woman in a long black Victorian style dress, hair tied back, dashing across the road and vanishing on the Common (a la Scottish Widow). Complete this cache at night at your own risk .....
