Noteworthy: The town of Fertőrákos offers the only access to the lake on the the Hungarian side.
In summer, you have to pay a fee for the parking (but respecting the parking regulations, you can probably leave your car outside and take a short walk to log the cache) as well as for the bath. Both fees are quite affordable though.
Standing at the header coordinates and facing the lake, you can
- turn back/right and access the open bath for water sports, enjoying the sun or for ice skating in the winter. If you go for a swim, you'll certainly find out why the lake is called Fertő-tó. Hint: it means "swamp-lake". Have you ever felt your feet sink into the refreshingly cold mud on a hot summer day? Just give it a try!
- turn left, follow the wooden path and spend quite some money on classy and gourmet (but quite expensive too) dishes in the "Haus im See". Pay attention to opening hours and to reservations. See the reference point and this website for more information!
- turn back/right and enjoy very good and quite affordable Hungarian cuisine served by one of the restaurant-huts in summer.
- turn left and take a boat ride to another port of this lake, either with or without your bicycle. For more information, click here and for translations, see on top right of the page
The container is a petling with green cap, not fully closed so that the FTF-click should sound. STEALTH MODE please. And please put the container back in a way that it doesn't fall and well hidden, just as you should have found it! Please bring your own pen!

Wissenswert: Fertőrákos hat den einzigen Wasserzugang zum Neusiedlersee auf ungarischer Seite.
Im Sommer muss man fürs Parken und für den Eintritt ins Strandbad eine (allerdings sehr geringe) Gebühr bezahlen. Du kannst dein Auto fürs Cachen wohl auch kurz vor dem Gelände parken, beachte aber allfällige Parkverbote
An den Headerkoordinaten stehend und zum See blickend kannst du dich
- nach hinten rechts wenden und das Strandbad gegen eine kleine Gebühr betreten (im Winter kostenlos, zB zum Eislaufen) und die Sonne und das Wasser genießen. Warum der See im Ungarischen "Fertő-tó", also "Sumpf-See" heißt, wirst du ja vielleicht herausfinden. Das Gefühl, an einem heißen Sommertag die Beine tief in den kühlen Schlamm einsinken zu lassen, ist schwer zu beschreiben.
- nach links wenden, etwas weiter den langen Holzsteg betreten und ihm bis ans Ende zum "Haus im See" folgen, wo Gourmetküche zu Gourmetpreisen serviert wird. Öffnungszeiten und evtl. Reservierung bitte beachten. Siehe Referenzpunkt und diese website
- nach hinten rechts wenden und in einer der Restaurant-Hütten sehr gute ungarische Küche zu niedrigen Preisen genießen.
- nach links wenden und ein Schiff der Drescher Line besteigen, mit oder ohne deinen Drahtesel.
Der Behälter ist ein Petling mit grünem, nur halb zugedrehtem Schraubverschluss, der Erstfinder hat das (angeblich begehrte) Recht auf den Verschlussklick. Bitte unbedingt STEALTH-MODE anwenden! Und bitte den Behälter wieder sicher und gut versteckt anbringen, so wie du ihn vorgefunden haben solltest! Bitte eigenen Stift mitbringen!
