Walk The Line 1 Traditional Cache
Shebiedog: Having watched 2 young girls as they muggled this cache recently and with the rest of the series now gone too sadly it's now time to say farewell to this one. Thanks to all that have found it and those I personally 'muggled and met' along the way

This is a series of 5 caches. Parking is usually available near the allotments which are located a short distance from the first cache. Please DO NOT park in front of any of the residential properties.
Gosport Railway was part of the Meon Valley Railway line it has a long history dating back to 1896 and was used many times by Queen Victoria and other members of royalty en route to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.
The railway was authorised in 1896 and opened in 1903, making it one of the last railways of any size to be built to main-line standards in the United Kingdom.
The Royal connection with Gosport railway station began on 8th October 1843 when Prince Albert came by train to greet His Majesty Louis - Phillipe, King of France. The first recorded visit to Gosport station by Queen Victoria came six days later when she accompanied the King on his return to France. Over the course of the next 50 years it carried royalty through to the terminus in Royal Clarence Yard close to Gosport Town Centre.
Closed in 1953 by Beeching in an attempt to reduce the cost of running the railways, the line quickly became overgrown, however many years later it was developed into a lovely tree lined cycle path and walk through Gosport so why not take your time and enjoy this place, watch the squirrels but beware of muggles being towed by dogs!!
