Geocache Description:

Belstone Tor stands high on Belstone Common with both east and west slopes covered with masses of clitter of both large and small rocks reaching almost down to the valleys of the River Taw [east] and River Okement [west]. Great care should be taken amongst the clitter in case the rocks are slippery!

South of Belstone Tor is the remains of what is known as Irishman's Wall which runs from west to east. The story goes that an Irish gentleman wished to follow the moorland custom of owning what could be enclosed by a permanent wall but the villagers knocked down the wall, and the gentleman abandoned his idea. Wonderful 360° views can be seen on a good day!

This is a new cache to replace my letterbox hybrid geocache which went missing at the end of 2013, consequently that one has been archived on 22.1.14.

THERE IS NO PEN/CIL IN THE CACHE - PLEASE BRING A PEN TO SIGN THE LOG = No signature = no smiley!
