A medium size plastic camo'd container in the Montour Woods Conservation Area, part of the Hollow Oak Land Trust. From the parking area, this is an easy hike along the Oil Well Trail.
(I felt this spot needed a larger cache - I replaced the peanut butter container with a larger cache! - enjoy & trade swag!)
I have become involved with the Hollow Oak Land Trust organization as a volunteer trail builder. The Montour Woods area is a 460 acre green space projected to host over 10 miles of sustainable trail network and eventually connecting with Moon Park and the Montour Trail. At this time, the trails are roughly cut and marked with trail posts at most intersections. The trails are not blazed yet, but pink ribbons tied to trees and branches should make staying on trail easy. Maps of this area are available at hollowoak.org. The oil well trail has lots of interesting artifacts along the way - check out the many junk cars, , an old weathered tree stand and of course the ancient oil well equipment. ****Important Note**** There is hunting in this area. Be sure to wear Blaze Orange during hunting seasons!
