a2arnold: Our thanks to everyone who attended & enjoyed the social aspect of geocaching! It was our pleasure to celebrate the day with people from such diverse backgrounds (age, work, interests, places they call home, etc.). You gave us lots of smiles! Time to archive this event, but hope to see you on the trail (or in a candy shop) again!

Geocache Description:

Come one, come all! Gumdrop loving hikers, bikers, car enthusiasts, beef-lovers and salad grazers are invited to gather in celebration of National Gumdrop Day.

Join us on Saturday, February 15th, from 5 to 7pm, to honor the day, enjoy a sweet treat and share caching news. A discussion of geocaching guidelines, particularly those related to creating events, is sure to be on the menu. Goody, goody gumdrop!

Dinner may be purchased at the eatery where we’ll meet. Please indicate the number of people in your party when logging your will attend.

Ah, gumdrops. Who doesn’t love these sugar coated gelatin candies, invented in America and enjoyed since 1801? They’ve evolved over the years to include orange slices, licorice drops and spearmint leaves, but many still prefer the fruit or spice flavored, conical shaped originals. Kind of like geocaching; old timers like to reminisce about the way it was. We’ll try to keep things sweet on this special day.

So stop by and share some sweet geocaching tales and gum drops!
