Geocache Description:

A magnetic micro (bring your own pen) near a newly installed monument in the pennine town of Todmorden.

The cache is placed on a newly installed monument to the Rochdale canal and the rivers that helped to build the industries that shaped the Yorkshire town of Todmorden near the Lancashire border. There is an information board at the monument.

Todmorden is notable for, amongst other things:

  • the Lucky Dog in Centre Vale Park
  • the Town Hall, which used to stand on the Yorkshire-Lancashire border
  • St Mary's Church and the Unitarian Church
  • Stoodley Pike
  • its indoor and outdoor markets
  • being the birthplace of two Nobel Prize winners
  • Todmorden Cricket Club
  • The Fielden family

There are several caches around Tod and a 40 minute walk to GC1BPJJ (A border cache for a border Lass) and GC1A8QW (stoodley pikes mini me) will give you a feel for the town
